The Case
Classic Form, Refined Presence
The case of Gran Luz was designed in pursuit of timeless proportions and a quiet, enduring presence. Its contours evoke the elegance of mid-century classic dress watches, while embodying the structural clarity and geometric grace characteristic of the Art Deco style.
Softly curving lines flow seamlessly into sharply defined lugs, creating a silhouette that feels calm yet purposeful. The polished case gently catches the light, while the domed sapphire crystal adds depth and dimensionality.
Measuring 36 mm in diameter (38.5 mm including the crown), it offers a balanced size that rests naturally on the wrist — understated yet refined, a form dedicated to harmony.
It is a beauty not meant to impress, but to belong — this is the quiet elegance of the Gran Luz case.
The Dial
Rhythm of Light, Subtle Depth
The dial of Gran Luz is composed around the rhythm and geometric beauty of the Art Deco style. The sun-shaped hour markers express the gentle expansion of light, giving the entire dial a quiet sense of movement. Their orderly arrangement evokes the symmetry and harmony found in Art Deco architecture.
The hour and minute hands adopt the refined dauphine shape, their sharply cut facets catching the light to achieve both legibility and sophistication — a quiet intersection between mid-century elegance and contemporary sensibility.
At the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock positions, mother-of-pearl inlays add subtle highlights that shift with the angle of light, reminiscent of reflections dancing on the surface of water. The natural iridescence of the material brings depth and delicacy to the dial.
Light and structure. Rhythm and stillness. The dial of Gran Luz is a stage upon which time reveals its beauty.
The Bracelet
Structure in Motion
The bracelet of Gran Luz is an expansion band that expresses the delicate texture of woven fabric through stainless steel. Its finely interlaced pattern conveys a sense of geometric order and graceful movement, resonating with the spirit of Art Deco design.
With its natural elasticity, the band gently conforms to the wrist, offering both comfort and a refined fit. The clasp-free construction allows for smooth wear and removal, blending functionality seamlessly into everyday life.
Balancing structural beauty with softness, the metal exudes no sense of coldness. As it moves, the band subtly shifts in form, enhancing the quiet presence of Gran Luz.
A harmony of structure and tenderness—felt each time it touches the skin. In its details, the Gran Luz bracelet carries a quiet sense of intention.
The Kamon Mark
A Symbol Where Ideas Meet
Engraved on the caseback and bracelet of Gran Luz is the crest of Moreno Watch Studio — a symbol of creation and craftsmanship. The emblem takes inspiration from the kamon, the traditional Japanese family crest that has, for centuries, represented lineage, identity, and artistry through refined geometry and symbolism.
Now based in Tokyo, watchmaker Francisco Moreno created this mark as the personal seal of his studio — a quiet reflection of his philosophy shaped by Japanese aesthetics and the discipline of handcraft. It embodies both reverence for tradition and the individuality of the maker.
Subtly placed on the watch, the emblem is more than decoration; it is a bridge between cultures, uniting the spirit of Ibarra’s beginnings with the evolution of Moreno’s craft in Tokyo. A quiet signature — not to proclaim, but to remind that within every detail lies the dialogue between heritage and creation.
